We have growing pains, which is quite a wonderful complaint but does need to be dealt with in the near future. It is being experienced by some of the folks that have never attended the earlier Salon when it was conducted as a true Salon. If you want to know what that means read the definition here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Salon_(gathering) So I am working on the next step and considering offering both a Salon and an open mic, catering to the needs and desires of different attendees. Or perhaps combining the two, with one major obstacle – time.
Suggestions are welcome.
Susana:
Not wild about the word “elite” in the definition, but I understand the general meaning. Is it possible to have part of an evening as a true salon, with readings and discussions, and another part as an open mic? Or start a second salon as just an open mic? Just thinking out loud.
Thanks for taking the time to respond. Both good suggestions and ones I’m still pondering.
