Sometimes you look at someone and they look at you, and there’s a spark. What happens next? The audience decides, in this lyrical, motivational, and intensely intimate exploration of the instantaneous decisions that go into any sexual encounter. From the award-winning creator of Phone Whore and slut (r)evolution comes for | play, running for two nights only Nov. 15-16 at the Playground in the Adrienne Theater, 2030 Sansom St., Philadelphia.
A delicate, dynamic mix of storytelling, spoken word, and erotica, for | play is a theatrical experience fueled in part by audience choices. Breaking through the fourth wall, this unique one-hour performance invests viewers in the very progression of the action — liberating their own personal feelings of sexual creativity.
for | play was nominated for the Centaur Best English-Language Theatre award at the 2012 Montréal Fringe Festival. Cameryn’s first two solo shows, Phone Whore and slut (r)evolution, have already toured to a total of 34 cities, with awards and critical acclaim coming from across the North American Fringe Festival circuit (Pick of the Fringe, 2011 Victoria Fringe Festival; Best of Fest, 2011 Winnipeg Fringe; Judges’ Honourable Mention, 2010 Ottawa Fringe; Best Female Solo, 2010 San Francisco Fringe). The tour continued this year to 25+ cities and over 60 performances.
Cameryn Moore is a playwright/performer, sex activist and educator, and, oh yeah: a phone sex operator. She writes Tour Whore, a weekly column for Montreal’s Charlebois Post, and Sidewalk Smut: custom typewritten pornography as street performance and literary art. Cameryn was recently chosen as the first international artist-in-residence at Montréal’s Mainline Theatre during its 2012-2013 season; there she will create and present Bang It Out, in April 2013.
Chlamydia dell’Arte is a sex-ed burlesque duo. You’ve never taken a sex-ed class like this one! Learn about safe sex, STDs, sexual orientation, menstruation, and much, much more through striptease, comedy, songs, and dance–all the parts of a traditional burlesque show. Come for the titillation, stay for the education.
The Erotic Literary Salon provides a supportive and non-judgmental arena for sharing erotica, writing tips, encouraging writers, offering sex news with a positive spin, and discussions on various related topics. The live salon meets monthly and features readings by established and new writers, supported by a community of avid listeners and readers.
