Tomorrow-The Erotic Literary Salon, The Origin of Pleasure-Ted Talk, Open Yale Courses, Woodhull’s Sexual Freedom Summit

“Go The Fok To Sleep” by Adam Mansbach, will be read by Dr. Frances Seidman tomorrow, along with the prolific erotica writer Gwen Master’s presentation, and a couple discussing their involvement in BDSM. A packed evening filled with erotica and sexual information.

While doing some mindless copy and past work on the Erotic Literary Salon’s anthology yesterday, I viewed a wonderful TED video, The Origin of Pleasure presented by Paul Bloom professor at Yale. “Why do we like an original painting better than a forgery? Psychologist Paul Bloom argues that human beings are essentialists — that our beliefs about the history of an object change how we experience it, not simply as an illusion, but as a deep feature of what pleasure (and pain) is.”

I also viewed a free seminar from his introductory course in psychology at Yale. His on campus lecture has been video taped for Open Yale Courses. I listed to Lecture 14 – What Motivates Us: Sex. “This lecture reviews what evolutionary theories and recent studies in psychology can tell us about sex and gender differences. Students will hear how psychology can help explain many of the differences that exist in whom we find attractive, what we desire in a mate, and sexual orientation.”
